Getting Started with Quickly

Sign up, create a workspace, connect Slack, and send your first message

Getting Started with Quickly

Quickly is an AI-powered ops assistant that lives in your messaging app. It connects to the tools your team already uses and takes action on your behalf through natural language commands. This guide walks you through everything you need to get up and running.

Step 1: Create Your Account

  1. Go to app.quickly.ai and click Sign In.
  2. Choose your sign-in method: Google or Microsoft. Quickly uses your existing work account, so there is no separate password to manage.
  3. After signing in, you will land on the workspace setup screen.

Step 2: Create or Join a Workspace

A workspace is your team's container in Quickly. All integrations, playbooks, settings, and action logs are scoped to a single workspace.

To create a new workspace:

  1. Enter a name for your workspace (typically your company or team name).
  2. Click Create Workspace.
  3. You will be assigned the ADMIN role automatically.

To join an existing workspace:

  1. If a teammate has already created a workspace, ask them for an invite link.
  2. Click the link and confirm your request.
  3. An admin will approve your request, and you will join with the MEMBER role.

Step 3: Connect Slack

Slack is the primary way most teams interact with Quickly. Connecting it takes about 60 seconds.

  1. From the dashboard, go to Channels in the left sidebar.
  2. Click Connect Slack.
  3. You will be redirected to Slack's OAuth screen. Select the workspace you want to connect and click Allow.
  4. After authorization, you will return to the Quickly dashboard with Slack connected.

For detailed Slack setup instructions, see Connecting Slack.

Step 4: Send Your First Message

  1. In Slack, invite Quickly to a channel: type /invite @Quickly in any channel.
  2. Send a test message: @Quickly ping
  3. Quickly should respond within a few seconds confirming it is connected and working.

Now try something useful:

@Quickly what can you do?

Quickly will list its available capabilities based on your connected integrations.

Step 5: Connect Your First Integration

Integrations let Quickly take action in your external tools. The most common starting points are Jira and Confluence.

  1. Go to Dashboard > Integrations.
  2. Find the integration you want (for example, Jira) and click Connect.
  3. Complete the OAuth flow by signing in to the external service and granting access.
  4. Once connected, the integration shows a green status indicator.

You can connect multiple integrations. Each team member connects their own accounts, so Quickly acts with each person's permissions.

Step 6: Try a Real Command

With Slack and at least one integration connected, try a real command:

@Quickly create a test issue in Jira with summary "Testing Quickly setup"

Quickly will create the issue and respond with a link to it. Check your Jira to confirm.
